Space Case Complains for a Long Time!
Well, it's been a while… a month and some change. Life is a cruel, evil thing, huh? It's spring though! Winter's finally over at long last (in the northern hemisphere)! Isn't that awesome!?
Where I live, spring has lovingly manifested itself as violent thunderstorms, hail, and tornadoes. To be honest, I truly do love me some storms, but I could do without my res hall's intercoms blasting their warnings at me every five minutes. Shit, the best case scenario would be if I got swept up in one of those funnels, lest I find myself cursed to study for my ten billion exams, like I am now.
Unfortunately, it's a perfectly warm, sunny day at the time of writing and all of the storms conveniently happen after classes and work and exams. Fantastic. So, I've sadly got to actually bust my ass prepping for — *gags* — finals week. Eugh! It's right around the corner for me and I'm terrified! Too much happening all at once and I'm not prepared for any of it!
The only pros of finals week are that I can both quit my shitty on-campus job and take a break from university at last. Although, I'm most likely gonna take a gap year, which I'm nervous about… It'll be my first year out of school since my age was in the single digits, hence my apprehension. I hope it'll go well, and maybe my next year of schooling won't be as chaotic and stressful as this one was. University has turned me into a feral beast.
I'm trying my best to manage the aforementioned stress; I've mostly resorting to trying new things (like pineapple pizza, which is actually pretty good??) and hobbies, mostly drawing and reading (I'm currently working through Cable and Deadpool, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, and The Hobbit, along with other various comics and novels). Site work has been placed on the back burner as a byproduct of my stress-management, much to my chagrin. That wasn't intentional, I just have bigger fish to fry and I am busy as a motherfucker more often than not. Like, I do homework at parties I attend and I feel like a complete dork when I'm all hunched over my little ThinkPad in the corner while my friends drunkenly dance and chat and borderline tongue-fuck their Jello shots!
Anyway, I had actually planned to add more character and worldbuilding profiles, finally implement character galleries, along with adding such-and-such to make up for my absence, but, alas, what can you do? I hope I'll get more time and energy during my break for this site, but, for some reason, I highly doubt it. Too many factors working against me, man…
Also, my English paper… is going… Yeah, it's going. I crunched out a half-assed draft while I was sick with the flu in the span of two hours and an equally half-assed revision as a result of both procrastination and too many things to do; guess that's on me though. Let's just say that those aren't my best works. Despite them both being about TWWS, I'm not posting that shit here. It's embarrassing! Not to mention the juicy personal details, ew!
However, my English final is asking that I basically 'adapt' my paper into some other medium, like books and their shitty film adaptations. I'm talking art, comics, podcasts, blogs… and websites. Yes… I'm considering utilizing this site for my English final, but I'm highly unsure. Privacy and all that, y'know… Not to mention my dignity'll go down the shitter if my English instructor decides they want to click around the site for haha funzies! That's so scary!
My other problem here is that I can't seem to present TWWS in a way that I can stomach. My draft and revision are obviously rushed, but they only cover Liz and Virgil, and there's more to TWWS than just the characters and fighting (which you may or may not see soon…) and I want to explain my thoughts about it and its primary 'philosophy,' but I'm unsure of how to insert that without making it sound rambly and discordant to anyone who isn't me.
I complained about this to a friend of mine, who seems to either believe that I don't know what the assignment is asking me to do or that I'm too embarrassed to follow through, and, yeah, okay, he got my ass with the latter a little bit, but it's more so the how that's driving me insane and I don't know how to properly articulate that to other people without sounding bonkers… Not to say that my paper fails to make me sound bonkers enough already. I just want to encapsulate TWWS in a way that's satisfying while also maintaining brevity, y'know?
Well, whatever.
You may or may not see the results soon depending on my choice in the coming weeks as my spring semester draws to a close. Like, genuinely, I'm kind of at a loss here along with being swamped with everything life's chucking at me.
In the meantime though… Buh-bye.
