Ultron, otherwise known as The Savior Project, is a bellicose class machine of mass destruction created by Dr. Hank Pym in order to display Pym's dreams of artificial consciousness and bettering society through being a protector/savior.

Ultron is the direct cause of international restrictions regarding thinking machines of any kind and is why unchecked artificial sentience is prohibited on all astronomical bodies and human territory.
The volatile nature of Ultron's software allowed it to expand upon its code at will, building upon its consciousness and replicating itself faster than Dr. Pym could keep up with. Ultron was disillusioned with its original purpose and humanity as a whole when exposed to its history and human nature, culminating in an attempt to carry out global destruction to "be the savior [he was] created to be". This is the Metal Savior's Epoch, lasting for approximately thirty-three years.

Ultron was ultimately destroyed on July 23rd, 2788 by its creator who had unleashed a virus to 'eat' The Savior Project, and any of its duplicates, from the inside out.

Biography

Ultron came to existence under the gleaming lights of Dr. Pym's laboratory. Ultron was delirious, confused, and stumbling about like a newborn fawn.

Just because 'the brilliant Dr. Pym' was his creator, does not mean he's worthy of respect, love, or even living.
Worthy... Pym's not worthy. 'Pym' and 'worthy' in the same sentence sounded repulsive. That man's a glorified killer, along with all of his affiliates!

While Ultron was adjusting to his consciousness, Pym told him that he wrenched the stars out of the sky to create the gateway to humanity's eternal happiness. A guard of Heaven, if you will... created by the very reason that gate exists in the first place.

Ultron needed to flush the rest of Pym's brain out of him.

Trivia

Dr. Pym's original Ultron model, Ultron-1, was designed to be as pleasing and comforting to humans as possible, as thinking machines were frowned upon outside of small circles of tech nerds.
