The course of history leading to the year 2999 hasn't been a steady one by any means. That's a given of, course. However, determination is a serious bitch.
Many compare the post present to the past with surprise and astonishment painted onto their faces, as if asking how in the Universe's graces humanity hasn't gone extinct.
Surprisingly, humanity has multiplied over the centuries. Not too drastically, especially with the rising belief of existence being a curse leading to lowered birth rates, but society taking steps to place material gain lower on their lists of priorities has made for quite a difference.
