Earthling Technology
Hmmm...
Thinking Machines
Main article: Thinking Machines and the Mechanical Nature
ROBOTS!! You saw this coming, right? Right? Please tell me you didn't strut over here, in this sci-fi/Marvel/video game/science nerd wonderland, without anticipating robots or some major machine influence.
There's no robot takeover or anything, the laws put into place after Ultron's reign in the 2700s ensured that... but nothing from the past truly stays dead.
Port Holes
People wished to travel anywhere they pleased without the usage of stars-forsaken public transportation that had bad maintenance and weirdoes around every corner trying to rob them.
Thus, behold an optimal solution crafted by the talented geniuses within the United Republic federal government: a manhole mixed with a teleporter; the Port Hole!
You waddle into a station full of Port-A-Potty looking contraptions, punch in a location (to another Port Hole) on a digital map, and bam! You're there in under a few minutes or so!
Oh, you also die, but that's neither here nor there. Gotta break some eggs to make an omelette, right?
See, when someone confirms the location on their little map, the Port Hole scans the user's biological makeup along with the items they have on their person (clothes, electronics, etc.) and stores them in a database. After that, the user is vaporized and promptly killed.
Not to fret though! That user's info from Port Hole A is sent to Port Hole B where they're then reconstructed -- items and all -- and permitted to go free!
Would this mean that some part of the population are clones? Possibly. Luckily or unluckily for them, they were systematically executed when the Port Hole Program was shut down during the early 2900s... Or at least, that's what the Leathucarian government says.
The URL's Port Hole Progam was gutted on the basis of malpractice. Surprisingly, it had less to do with the fact that people were killed then cloned as a means of transportation and more on the fact that one's information scanned by Port Hole A being sent to Port Hole B (dubbed Teleportation Limbo) could be compromised and hijacked by a third party. This was brought to the public's attention when the URL government had immediately began to recind the Port Hole Program after an influential politician never reappeared after teleporting.
Curiously, before the disappearance of that politician, a multitude of these hijackings had occurred during Teleportation Limbo. These attacks were mostly directed towards members of the criminal underworld or minority groups, but the death of that one politician had caught the Leathucarian government's attention, prompting its swift end.
Weapons
I'll come back to this later.
Megastructures
Solarfuse
The Solarfuse is a Dyson swarm orbiting and harvesting the energy of Surya. It's the primary source of power for Earthlings, aside from nuclear power, and is what defines Earth as a type II civilization.
Artificial Planets
The concept of an manmade planet appeared after the culmination of the Solarfuse in the 2600s, during a time of sung praises and high hopes. The people yearned to go bigger.
