Howdy.

My name is Kirimu. Machine works fine, too. Nice to meet you.

I consider myself to be a talkative recluse. I'm also black, aroace, and transmasculine… if that matters. I dunno, I just got here.
Sometimes I like certain things too much and they spiral; this website's a good example of that. No, I'm not proud of myself, but I guess I'll see this site through to its end.

The Wondrous Web-Surfer is a headworld-paracosm-thing that's existed since 2023, which is pretty recent in terms of paracosms, hence why there's not a lot of stuff on this site yet; I'm working on it and dealing with adulthood. Kind of a lot of stuff going on at the minute and that makes updates infrequent. I'm sorry about that.
I created this site out of sheer impulse; I wanted to make a personal website and practice web dev, but I'm a pretty boring person overall and couldn't figure out what my site would be about, so I figured, "Why not have the thing revolve around the world in my head?" This site exists to keep track of and archive things relating to TWWS and all of the other paracosms within it. Does it accomplish that effectively? No fucking clue.

Currently, I'm working toward my electrical engineering bachelor's (plus maybe an art minor in the future) and begrudgingly doing other adult things with my time.
I don't use social media anymore, so most of my free time is spent chilling. Playing video games, watching Vinesauce, drawing, reading, web surfing, looking for critters under rocks… and working on the site, too. Yeah.

Interests

  • Video Games!!
I really love video games. Hahaha.
I'm more into 'retro' games and older game hardware than anything particularly novel (outside of a few titles), but my sentiment still stands. I suck dick at every game I play, but I still enjoy playing them anyway.
If you're curious, my favorite consoles are the PS1 and Sega Saturn, but I also greatly enjoy arcade games, too.
If you're still curious, my favorite video game is Undertale with Ultrakill at a very close second. No, I don't like Deltarune nearly as much as I like Undertale, sorry to say.

  • Emulation!!
I need a means to play my nerd games, yeah?
Currently, I'm using DuckStation, MAME, PPSSPP, and PCSX2. Mostly Duckstation though. PS1 games have captivated me recently.
I used to only use RetroArch… but, after three or four years, the shitty UI got to me. So, now I'm in the process of looking for a frontend — and more emulators for different systems, so I can play more games — to coalesce all of my ROMs.
    Do I need a frontend? …No, but I'm a sucker for style.

  • Science
Science is cool. I read science books as a kid for fun.
I'm interested in just about anything that isn't geology, but I'm more of a fan of the space sciences than anything else; specifically: cosmology, astronomy, astrobiology, prebiotic chemistry, and astrophysics. Mostly cosmology though…
I also enjoy arachnology, entomology, chemistry (begrudgingly), and biology (also begrudgingly).
In a typical academic setting, I find any field of science to be horrible, but — alas — I still like these regardless.

  • Art
I've been drawing less and less as I've gotten older for a wide variety of reasons, but I'm still an art kid at heart.

  • Vinesauce!!
I like watching Vinny and Joel play weird games a lot. Or destroy VMs.

  • Music
In terms of music, I listen to… not everything, but a lot of things! My favorite genres are rap, rock, punk, and metal.
My favorite album is Retcon by Red Vox; my favorite songs on there are The New Flesh and Reminds Me.... Retcon makes me so happy whenever I listen to it!
Red Vox - Retcon
Red Vox - Realign
Kendrick Lamar - Untitled Unmastered.

  • Comics
    This is a weird one.
When I first got into Marvel in my tweens, it was through Into the Spider-Verse and copious amounts of fan-fiction until I stumbled upon Spideypool. I near-exclusively consumed fan-fiction (and lengthy retrospectives) concerning Marvel for years because I disliked the convoluted mess that is Marvel's many canons. It's still intimidating to this day, honestly!
I liked comic book characters, but I couldn't bring myself to like comics… until now! …In my adulthood. Maybe it's just because I'm less picky.

Web-Surfer?

This might sound weird, but TWWS is one of very few things that I give a fuck about currently.
It's difficult to actually articulate that, since a lot of what comprises this paracosm in its entirety isn't up on the site and probably will never be, but it's like a pet roach I can't get rid of, I suppose.

TWWS is weird. My relationship with it is weird. It's one of the most self-indulgent and personal things I've ever created — as with many daydreams and paracosms, I'm sure. Is it me or a part of me? I don't know. Regardless, I'm happy to talk about TWWS at length to (almost) anyone who asks, but I might be like… weird and aggro and protective over it? Especially with specific themes or characters? My characters and stories are a reflection of myself/my life one way or another, so I'm sorry in advance if I take something to heart. I can't really help it.

Contact

You can email me (Dynaknightslol(at)gmail(dot)com). You can also shoot me a message on the guestbook.

Oh, yeah. I also have a MelonLand Forums account, but I don't use any social platforms beyond this and Discord, pretty much; escaping corporate greed and having better things to do with my life, all that jazz. I guess there's my Neocities profile, if that counts?

Trivia

  • I can't think of a favorite food, but I will fuck up a chocolate milkshake any day of the week. That, and whipped cream?? Fuck, yes, dude.
  • Dog person, but cats are fine, too. My favorite breed is the samoyed. They're so happy and cute and fluffy… augh.
  • If you wanted to get real technical about my gender, I refer to myself as a Masculine and Nonbinary individual; also called a MAN for short… but who the hell cares? I just say transmasc and call it a day.
  • I've nearly been struck by lightning.
  • The freaky rabbity-thing in my thumbnail is named Kittrick. He's less of a fleshed-out character and more of a representation of myself… a fursona. Fuck. Goddammit. Yeah fine he's a fursona.
  • TWWS wasn't made so I could ship myself with a character from the Spider-Verse movies nor so that Virgil could be a part of the Spider-Society, despite TWWS being inspired by the second Spider-Verse film.
  • The name 'Web-Surfer' exists because I thought I'd be unoriginal if I went with 'Spider-[NAME],' but I also wanted a name that sounded vaguely spider-themed.
  • This paracosm was also originally intended to be more… internet-y; recurring themes of technology, computers, our lives on the World Wide Web, what-have-you. Then, TWWS branched into something beyond a means of passing my high school computer science classes. So, here we are.
  • I didn't give Virgil the surname 'Voltspun' because I had intended for him to have electrical powers, like Miles Morales. I just couldn't find a cool last name that started with V on the internet, so I made something up.
  • Virgil's also not named after the guy from Devil May Cry, by the way. I just wanted him to have a nerdy-sounding name.
  • There are more 'mini-verses' within TWWS' canon that I'm currently working on. Liz's paracosm, Sunset Silver is one of them, but most are either snippets of TWWS' 'history'/timeline or are pieces of media, like video games or TV shows that would exist in-universe.
  • I played ULTRAKILL so much in high school that the game, drawing constantly, and AP classes caused me to get carpal tunnel (in both wrists) when the Violence Layer released.
