There's no robot takeover or anything, the laws put into place after Ultron's reign in the 2700s ensured that... but nothing from the past truly stays dead.

Solarfuse

The Solarfuse is a Dyson swarm orbiting and harvesting the energy of Surya. It's the primary source of power for Earthlings, aside from nuclear power, and is what defines Earth as a type II civilization. Its creation in the mid-2500s kickstarted an era known as the Astro-Nuclear Age.

Artificial Planets

The concept of an manmade planet appeared after the culmination of the Solarfuse in the 2600s, during a time of sung praises and high hopes. The people yearned to go bigger. WIP.

Trivia

• Despite those in power wishing to salvage the oil, fossil fuel, and coal industries, they ultimately agreed to quit hindering the Solarfuse's construction in response to a string of murders specifically targeting high-ranking officials.
